Open House

Karen, a 20-year-old assistant working in real estate, busies herself by baking cookies for a property viewing. As she meticulously prepares the house, straightening furnishings and setting out flyers, it is clear that she is tense, eager to impress as it is her first solo showing. A stranger, with a watchful eye on her, intrudes into the house, sending shivers down Karen's spine. However, she politely plays along, hoping to make a successful sale to advance her career. As the man displays an unusual interest in certain areas of the house, his unsettling gaze leaves Karen on edge. Just when she is about to take the man upstairs, another visitor shows up, providing Karen with a brief relief. Taking the opportunity to guide the new guest around, she leaves the first man lurking in the background. Minutes later, he vanishes upstairs. Following the departure of the last visitor, Karen faces despair, feeling the weight of a missed opportunity. Carrying the remnants of prepared perfection, she is riled by the unsuccessful outcome. Imagine her shock as she embarks to switch off lights, only to find the man lingering, this time in the bedroom. His unexpected presence startles Karen, but his admiration of the view strays into a compelling offer to aid her in the sale. Puzzled but hopeful, she hands him a listing flyer, waiting as he coolly discloses his decision to purchase the property at the original asking price and extraordinarily double her commission. Karen is beaming with joy, eliminating the shadow of her previous failures. Before she can fetch the necessary paperwork to formalize the deal, the man’s unsettling desires come to light. Utterly stunned, Karen reluctantly surrenders to his lewd wishes in exchange for his commitment to their agreement. Fulfilling his demands one by one, she engages in a sexual exchange to secure the sale. As the deed is done, and the man readies to depart, Karen - overwhelmed by the ordeal - questions her next move as she delicately wipes away a stain. In the distance, the man swiftly exits the property, removing the “Open House” sign in tow.
