Missing The Signs

Adriana Chechik is elegantly dressed for a night on the town, displaying allure. Sitting on a sofa, she grows impatient, a frown forming on her face. 'Hurry up, Cassidy! You've been in there forever!' Adriana remarks in frustration.
'Alright, alright, I'm on my way!' Cassidy Klein quips as she emerges from her room, also radiating sex appeal for the evening. Despite her captivating appearance, she seems hesitant and unenthused. Adriana starts praising Cassidy's alluring look, but her praise fades as she notices Cassidy's contemplative expression.
'What's on your mind?' she inquires, patting the couch for Cassidy to join her. Cassidy takes a seat beside Adriana, looking troubled. She confesses that she questions the purpose of going clubbing at all.
It seems she doesn't derive enjoyment from club outings. While she loves spending time with her best friend, she finds the club atmosphere unappealing. She often observes various individuals making advances on each other – even on Adriana! – yet, nobody seems to pay attention to HER.
Adriana chuckles lightly in disbelief. 'Are you kidding me? People constantly hit on you at clubs! Men and women alike!' With that said, Adriana clasps Cassidy's hands, looking for a reaction. Oblivious to Adriana's implication, Cassidy dismisses her claims, shaking her head in denial.
'No way! I'd definitely notice if they were! Are you absolutely certain about that…? Really?' Cassidy queries skeptically. 'Oh, believe me, I know,' Adriana reaffirms firmly. Adriana suggests Cassidy might be overlooking the subtle gestures from people.
She explains that when others touch her on the arms or shoulders casually while being in proximity, it's not without intention. Cassidy interjects, 'What? Well, perhaps some people are naturally touchy-feely; it doesn't signify anything…' Adriana laughs it off, shaking her head. 'No, darling, they are seeking a connection with you… And when someone buys you a drink, it's not merely out of friendliness!' 'But you always buy me drinks!' Cassidy insists.
'Yes, I do,' Adriana says pointedly, fixing her gaze on Cassidy intensively. Cassidy frets, 'Oh gosh, you're such a great friend – I should treat YOU to more drinks when we're out,' once again oblivious to Adriana's attempts. Cassidy shares that she always anticipated that if someone harbored interest, they would directly ask her out.
As in romantic movies, there tends to be a flirtatious line or a grand gesture to signify interest. Adriana points out that for. 'some individuals,' expressing attraction straightforwardly might be a challenge, whether due to shyness, difficulty with words, or fear of rejection. Approaching others might feel risky to.
'certain individuals' for fear of facing rejection and how it could alter the dynamic, potentially jeopardizing a friendship.
Jacinda narrates that showing interest directly might play out differently, causing confusion, and possibly damaging an existing friendship. '. just a thought' pointed out hypothetically. " 'Really?' Cassidy echoes, seemingly comprehending the dynamics.
Nervously, Adriana looks at Cassidy, hoping that she has finally grasped the underlying context. However, Cassidy nonchalantly shrugs it off, expressing that risking a bond at a bar with a stranger doesn't concern her much. 'Not with a stranger, you dolt – with ME! I've been crushing on you for like.
a year!' Adriana declares filled with distress and commotion.
She discloses her long-standing attraction towards Cassidy, noting how she tried every way to convey her interest – to no avail. 'Why didn't you just say it outright?' Cassidy fires back, still taken aback and not resisting. Being direct would have spared them both all this time! Stunned by Cassidy's counter-reaction, Adriana queries further.
Cassidy reveals that she, too, harbored feelings for Adriana but questioned whether their bond was solely rooted in friendship or something deeper. Adriana at once groans and giggles. 'So, does that mean you are willing to taking our friendship to a whole new level?' 'Definitely! I mean, why not date someone who is one's best friend?' Cassidy enthusiastically agrees.
Drawing closer, they share a passionate kiss as Adriana removes Cassidy's top, playfully teasing her perky breasts. It turns out, both of them had misunderstood each other’s gestures all along!.
