Living Vicariously
FROM THE beginning we witness Becky (Natalie Knight) in a state of unease walking down the street, clearly paranoid that she is being trailed. The tension in her body and anxious expression give away her fear as she glances around cautiously. Rapidly making her way down the path towards her home, her apprehension escalates into a panicked sprint as she approaches her door.
Fumbling through her bag for her keys, she drops them in a fluster but quickly recovers and unlocks the door. Rushing inside, Becky secures the door, visibly relieved. Hesitant, she peers out the window only to recoil in terror at the sight of Gwen (Jane Wilde) standing motionless on the street, staring at her.
The next day, Becky confides in her pal Mitchell (Nathan Bronson) about Gwen's obsessive stalking. Seeking his support and company for safety, Mitchell readily agrees. Later that evening, Becky and Mitchell cozy up on the couch watching TV.
Although comfortably nestled beside him, Becky is still on high alert. Mitchell, torn between the TV and Becky, tentatively drapes an arm around her. Receiving no resistance, he cannot hide his joy at the closeness.
