The Uncomfortable Truth

Roger, a man named Ryan McLane, is on the internet checking out a page featuring intimate companions. He's taken aback and unsure when he comes across a photo of one of the companions called Mercedes. She looks especially recognizable to him, and to his shock, he discovers that Mercedes is actually a young lady named Melanie (played by Lydia Black), daughter of his best friend and colleague Joe. Overwhelmed by his loyalty to Joe, he heads to Joe's place to disclose his knowledge of his daughter. However, upon his arrival, Joe is absent and Melanie meets him instead. Rather than leaving, he approaches Melanie with anger, but she is not up for it. Melanie carries no shame and attributes people like Roger as the reason she had to keep her work as a companion discrete. Moreover, she questions why Roger vehemently stands up for Joe, considering she doesn't believe Joe merits such allegiance. Throughout their interaction, Roger begins to fathom that Joe may not be as honorable as he had believed. He is crushed and conflicted about his next steps... until Melanie proposes collaborating to express their contempt towards Joe in the most disrespectful way.
