Playing The Part

A vintage phone rings and Lydia Black, sporting 80s retro attire, rushes to answer it. Her friend Shiri Allwood is at the other end of the line, proposing a meet-up while their spouses are away golfing. Both Lydia and Shiri are married into affluent oil families, yet Lydia can't help but envy Shiri's seemingly more prosperous husband. As their conversation progresses, one can detect a hint of insincerity in their voices - almost as if they are performing in a soap opera. "'Cut!'" echoes a director's voice, revealing Lydia and Shiri as the leading actresses of an 80s-style TV series. Wrapping up the pilot episode, it's time for these actresses to retreat to the green room and remove their makeup. Exhausted from the lengthy shoot, they are in dire need of a break. Serendipitously, at the green room, Lydia and Shiri engage in a lively conversation. Despite being cast in pivotal roles, they haven't had opportunities to bond. Sharing their mutual discontent with the project - the clichés, the meager budget, the tasteless 80s nostalgia - they soon realize a mutual connection. A palpable attraction surfaces as they chat, culminating in undeniable chemistry. Changing into their casual clothes, both steal glances at each other, appreciating what they see. Overwhelmed by the burgeoning tension, they find themselves kissing fervently in the intimate setting of the green room. Engaging in steamy intimacy, Lydia and Shiri fully embrace their roles with absolute perfection.
