Being True To Ourselves

Drake Von is engrossed in a book when Adam Awbride sneaks into their chamber, startling him. As secrets unravel, it becomes clear that both men share a homosexual orientation and have been thrust into a conversion compound by their unsupportive kin. Adam appears contrite, expressing his remorse for the morning's contentious argument they had shared previously.
Drake, plotting an escape from the facility, is being cautioned by Adam. Adam refuses to condone recklessness as Drake emphasizes his escape plans. Despite Adam's fervent plea for Drake to stay out of caution for their safety, Drake is resolute.
Adam approaches with an apology for escalating tensions between them but stands firm regarding Drake's escape. Lamenting the degradation of their self-worth, Drake vocalizes the perceived cruelty and falsehood of conversion attempts.
Adam interjects with anxieties about not being relinquished if Drake proceeds with his plans. Crippled with fear about separation from Drake, Adam's affection surfaces, evoking Drake's reciprocation. Proposing a joint escape, Drake urges Adam to accompany him to newfound freedom.
Awakened by trepidation, Adam hesitantly declines, assisting Drake in packing while weaving through their final heartbreaking moments together. As Drake prepares to trek into the unknown, granting one forbidden vulnerably forbidden yet bewitching intertwining act becomes their closing shared communion.
